What You WIll Learn

Part 1 In this course we look to learn the very foundation of the Arabic Language, starting with the Arabic Alphabet and focusing on the letters, their names, their pronunciation and their different positioning in any given word. After that we look to learn the short vowels, as well as the long vowels with a detailed explanation. We then go onto learning all about the Tanween, the Sukoon, and finishing up with an explanation and examples of the Shaddah.

Learning Outcome

In part 1 of this course you will be able to read proper Arabic words by Module 3! You will know all of the Arabic Alphabet, the names of the letters, their correct pronunciation and different positions of the letters and how they change. You will understand the following rules: Long Vowels (Madd), Tanween, Sukoon, and most importantly you will understand the rule of Shaddah and how to apply it. These modules form the foundation of Arabic.

Instructor(s)

Mazen El-Bizri

After beginning teaching in 2004, Mazen then travelled to Cairo, Egypt where he furthered his knowledge of Quran and in the Classical Arabic Language (Fusha) studying at various Arabic Centres in Cairo as well as lessons with local Mashaayikh in Cairo.

Upon returning to Sydney, Australia he took up teaching at Unity Grammar school, teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to both primary and secondary level students and continued his studies with Al-Madinah International University MEDIU in the faculty of Usool ud Deen and Dawah.

Currently he is a teacher at Masjid Abu Bakr in Sydney, where he holds classes for both men and women in Arabic Language and Fiqh studies.
